- Initially, the
group was from Portland (Oregon), but moved to Los Angeles in the late
60's and began to attract attention as the opening act of the top group,
as The Doors and The Strawberry Alarm Clock. In 1968 Hunger released their only album "Strictly From Hunger",
which became coveted among collectors of psychedelia. Record
consolidated the position of the group on the California psychedelic
hard rock scene. This album, released on the label Public label in 1969,
was the second incarnation of the distinctive guitar riffs Ed King, and
later played in The Strawberry Alarm Clock and Lynyard Skynyrd.
The first arrangement, which later received a Project Name "The lost album", was recorded at Bill Holm's All American Records label.
Music group contained more menacing, sinister sounds than most psychedelic era and reflect a very specific period in the history of music in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, due to an unfortunate combination of circumstances (the group was twice within one year of stolen equipment) Hunger broke up at the peak of popularity.
