This album is considered to be the eighth in the discography of Hawkwind. After the riots and subsequent fight against freethinkers (Turner, Powell, Rudolf) seemed to be in a group it's peace of mind ... It would seem ... But then arrived mental crisis Calvert. He suffered from delusions of persecution and went all over the field camouflage and with a gas pistol in a holster ... In London, Calvert was sent to a psychiatric hospital. And Brock began to think about how to "throw in the towel" (closed group). He even sold his guitar ... But then he found himself in the same plane with Doug Smith (first to Charisma, the band's manager). And they decided to start all over again ... Brock Hawkwind temporarily disbanded and began a new project. It includes bassist Harvey Bainbridge (Harvey Bainbridge), keyboardist Paul Hales (Paul Hayles) and drummer Martin Griffin (Martin Griffin) - all of the group The Ark, Calvert and Brock himself. The project is called the Sonic Assassins ... Later Hales replaced Steve Swindells (from the defunct band Pilot) and the project was called Hawklords - in 1976 published a book The Time Of The Hawklords, written by Michael Butterworth (Michael Butterworth) for Moorcock novel and tells of the exploits of rock band, music save the world ... In October 1978, he released the album 25 Years On (# 48 UK), recorded by the group in June-August on a mobile studio on Langley Farm in Devon. Reviewer Allmusic Dave Thompson (Dave Thompson) observes, "the group is not only an understanding, but also absorb the energy of a new wave, a certain awkwardness in dealing with hippioznym community prevented her to take with the Stooges, New York Dolls and Velvet Underground place in the pantheon godfathers punk rock ". Dave Brock, however, considered the album too sluggish - Armchair Hawkwind ("chairlifts Hekvind") - so he spoke about the record later ... Stage shows are also different from the past: a riot of light gave way to gloom, anti-utopian stories and images were bleak picture of the world which has turned into one big factory, and operates under the watchful eye of Big Brother ... Speaking of the show - in October-November 1978, the band played 42 concerts in the UK. In 1979, Steve Swindells and Robert Calvert left Hawklords, and Dave Brock, Simon King and Harvey Bainbridge with Huw Lloyd-Langton and Tim Blake recreated Hawkwind ...
