The Champs - Everybody's Rockin' (1959)

The Champs was an American rock band and instrumental Roll essentially associated with the blues and Latin music. Formed in 1957 in Los Angeles, CA, USA, famous for its great success and ICON Latin instrumental "Tequila".
The theme "Tequila" was recorded at Gold Star Studios in 1958. It was performed and recorded by numerous orchestras and groups and almost every major conductors. In 1959 he won the Grammy for Best Rhythm and Blues Recording. It was the first major success of the group and made it to No. 1 in just three weeks, leading the band to become the first group to reach a first with an instrumental theme.
"Tequila!" was a theme written and performed by saxophonist Danny Flores, although he was credited as Chuck Rio because he was under contract with another record label at the time. Flores, who died in September 2006, was known as the "Godfather of Latin Rock."
The Champs also had other successes also with instrumental as "Limbo Rock" and "La Cucaracha." The group also recorded an alternate version for Tequila, titled "Tequila Too Much".
