Students and rock musicians had a mutual friend, producer, who invited them to join together in one group. After the first concert in 1967 they signed to Atlantic Records.
New York Rock & Roll Ensemble broke all the traditions, they used classical musical instruments in rock songs and vice versa. This merger, daring at the time, was impressed by the legendary conductor Leonard Bernstein so much that he invited the group to participate in one of the concerts of the youth of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
Reflections third album was recorded in collaboration with the Greek composer Manos Hadjidakis, became the biggest selling album in the group.
The album was released in 1971, Roll Over most of the rock albums. Group tour to support the album was unique, so that in addition to the usual concerts colleges, the band also played all over the country with leading symphony orchestras.
The last album was not very Freedomburger and shortly after the tour in support of the band broke up.
