EVIEYTOR (Aviator), English art rock band, formed in 1978. Ingredients: John J Perry (John G. Perry) (. P 1947) (bass guitar, vocals), Mick Rogers (Mick Rogers) (guitar, vocals ), Clive Bunker (Clive Bunker) (b. December 12, 1946) (drums), Jack Lancaster (Jack Lancaster) (flute, saxophone).
The founders of the group at the time of its creation have already had considerable experience in the highly respected teams: Mick Rogers was a permanent guitarist MANFRED MANN "S EARTH BAND since its inception and until 1975, John Gee Perry sang and played bass in CARAVAN, QUANTUM JUMP, CURVED AIR, and Clive Bunker and Jack Lancaster went to school in the original part of JETHRO TULL, and then - in BLODWYN PIG together in Mick Abrahams (Mick Abrahams).
John Gee met with percussionist Bunker in 1978 in the studio Electric. At that moment they both as session musicians participated in the recording of the album Giltrtrepa «Fear Of The Dark». Collective creativity as musicians liked that it was decided to create their own project. Talented performers among the participants drew the attention of producers and AVIATOR get a contract with EMI Harvest. In 1979 the first album under the same name, in which the traditional British rhythm and blues sound, supplemented by some moments tyazhelorokovogo and jazz sound was recorded. However, the album did not have much success, and left the band flutist Lancaster. The part of truncated AVIATOR is trying to rectify the situation as follows Long pleem with at least air called «Turbulence».
