This collection is a version of what the Grateful Dead's final album might have sounded like. It answers the musical question "What if they had released one last album?"

Tracks here come from live gigs and rehearsals. They live cuts chosen might not be fan favorites, but they worked better in the album format since they were shorter and the running time of a CD needs to be under 80 minutes. I tried to "master" this compilation as best I could so these divergent tracks had some uniformity of sound.

For a full rundown of this era, check out the book "Grateful Dead FAQ," which has a chapter that goes into detail on this would-be last album.
