The debut album of New Zealand's leading groups of the late 60's - early 70's. 'The La De Da's "became a springboard for an outstanding guitarist in Australia and New Zealand, Kevin Borich. And it all started in Auckland in 1964 with garage band "The Mergers", which combines a 16-year-old high school friends Kevin Borich, Brett Neilsen and Trevor Wilson. Kevin began his musical studies in fact at an early age. At age 12, he recorded a single with two sisters Judi and Sue Donaldson, who lived next door. The sisters later became very popular New Zealand duo "The Chicks". At first, "The Mergers" played in the style of the instrumental group "Shadows" and performed at dance parties at school. But, visit "The Beatles" in June 1964 and the emergence of "Rolling Stones" prompted them to change the style and invite vocalist whom was Phil Key. Soon they changed their name to "La De Da's". In 1965 they were joined by keyboardist and vocalist Bruce Howard and the band became a professional. Their singles invariably become hits in their homeland. In late 1966, just for Christmas, they released their first 14-track LP.
