The second album from Nottingham. «Paper Lace» stubbornly fought their way to the glory of melodic pop songs, but success came only in 1974, when the television competition of young talents song of «Billy, Do not Be A Him" ??(by Mitch Murray and Peter Callander) won the grand prize and led the national hit parade. In the US, its version of this song quickly made "in Donaldson And The Heywoods», and thus, «Paper Lace» were "cut off" on the US charts. However, the next single «The Night Chicago Died», singer of the times "dry law" in the US, the US market and the competitors had safely reached the 3rd place of the hit parade. Another creation Murray et Callander - single «Black Eyed Boys» - reached the 11th place of the charts in England - it was the last great success of the group.

I sometimes think of Paper Lace (alongside Buster and the Dead End Kids) as the last of the later 60s-style bands (along the lines of the Foundations or Vanity Fare). They and their ilk were swept away by 1977 in the punk rock wave.
