«Paper Lace» - British pop group, formed in 1969 in Nottingham (county Nottinghamshire). The first known team brought the hit «Billy, Do not Be A Hero», in March 1974 led the British charts; it was followed by «The Night Chicago Died», which became a hit # 1 in the US (# 3 UK). In 1975, the group disappeared from view criticism, then came back with the version of American spirituals «We've Got The Whole World In Our Hands», recorded with the participation of the players "Nottingham Forest" (and unexpectedly became a hit in the Netherlands), and then broke up finally. Vocalist Philip Wright in 1997 became a member of the group «Sons And Lovers»; sometimes he appears on the scene and how «Philip Wright's Paper Lace». The debut album was released in March 1972.
