The Pretty Things - Silk Torpedo (1974)

The band’s seventh album (# 104 on the US Billboard 200). Released on the Swan Song label, owned by Led Zeppelin. The album was presented at the blasphemous holiday Halloween on October 31 at Chislehurst Caves. Strippers dressed as nuns shed black cassocks, shaking their bare breasts. Fire-eaters and wizards roamed the crowd. Everyone was smitten to pieces. The holiday ended with Bonzo and roady smearing each other with gelatin. Silk Torpedo was musically successful and fashionable (in the style of hard-glam), and the Zeppelins predicted that he (like the band Pretty Things) would be successful. It seemed that instincts did not fail manager Peter Grant ... But in 1976, relations in Pretty Things escalated and the group ceased to exist; however, as a result of the gradual involvement of its members in Phil May's solo project, the Fallen Angels is meeting again. The Cross Talk (1980) album recorded after reunion (composed of May, Alan, Waller, Powy, Tolson and Taylor, who returned after ten years of absence) showed the influence of post-punk and a new wave, combined with a characteristic hard rock sound ...
