[Actor Edward James Olmos had a group called Pacific Ocean][Edward James "Eddie" Olmos(born February 24,1947)is a Mexican American actor and director.]Eddie also was the groups' lead singer.
The band played the Los Angeles club circuit and was signed by the L.A. based VMC label. The group’s name was chosen because according to Olmos ,”it was the biggest thing on the West Coast”.The album is straight forward R&B and as a vocalist Eddie could give Iggy Pop a run for the money, some great howling, gritty vocals. Some nice covers here including a great version of Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues” and also “16 Tons” and “I Can’t Stand It”.
A good one.Worth to take a spin....
ReplyDeleteTony Carrubber was also in the Pacific Ocean along with Steve Johnson (drums) and Ronnie Hensley (organ) . We played 7 nights a week on the Sunset Strip along with other want to bees like Jim Morrison , and the Buffalo Springfield . Lots of fun!. The album broke up the band cause the record co.decided to bring in ghost singers,
