The Human Expression - Love At Psychedelic Velocity 1994(recorded in 1966-1967)

"The Human Expression" - Garage-psychedelic team from America. Not recorded a single album, and a few singles, but with respect to many of these "bezalbomnyh" groups, "The Human Expression" left an imprint on the history of the genre, and their song "Optical Sound" then repeatedly flashed on any subject collections. Starting the band was laid when two students of the Westminster High School (which is in the district of Orange, California) decided to collect rock band. It was in 1965, and the guys name: Martin Eshleman and Jim Foster. They both played guitar, but of course, the duo were not going to act, and to the group, in the mind, still needed a bassist, vocalist and drummer. The first is the frontman of his guys have advised one of their friend, who lived in Tustin (it's such a small town in the district of Orange) in the neighborhood with this dude named Jim Quarles. Vocalist in the group was now and the case remained in the rhythm section: they lured her from another school group "Moby Dick & The Whalers", and they were now drummer Armand Poulin and bassist Tom Hamilton, and the structure was fully completed. Calling themselves "The Human Expression", the band started writing songs and rehearsing, held initially in the garage of his father Jim Foster and performances in the walls of the native (for most members of the group) of the institution. As for the creativity of these young guys - they composed songs, deliberately mischievous and for its time rather aggressive, focusing on the "wild British" like "The Rolling Stones", "The Pretty Things" and "The Animals". Summer of 1966, the quintet is sent to the studio to capture on film their first creation. The studio was located, moreover, that in another city (though very close, just east of Westminster - in Garden Grove), so also in the usual garage. But how many it is necessary for the demo ?! The more so because the cost of entry paid Jim's father, and he also later went to the received records in Los Angeles, offering them a variety of labels. As a result, with "The Human Expression" contracted a small Los Angeles label "Accent Records", and new producers (now professional) groups began - Don Clifton and label head - Scott Seely. Scott Sealy seeds for the future of the single two songs from the repertoire of the group (they will be "Love At Psychedelic Velocity" and "Every Night"), and in late 1966, the band once again go into the studio, this time to finish recording. Sorokapyatka itself with songs "Love At Psychedelic Velocity" / "Every Night" comes out in January 1967. Group with their debut single gets local fame (a heated part of the performance), but a breakthrough in the national charts and the Top 40 of their songs a little short. Musicians continue to actively give concerts in his native Westminster and the surrounding area, as well as provide a number of performances in Los Angeles, including the legendary club "Whisky A Go Go". The next single, "The Human Expression", recorded in Los Angeles "Sunset Studio", will be released in the summer of '67, in July. They will be two new creations "Optical Sound" and "Calm Me Down". Alas, this single is "The Human Expression" does not bring commercial success. Their chief, Scott Sealy, this situation is depressing, and he insists on the inclusion of the sixth member - another vocalist Mike Verlingieri Jr. This automatically creates a tension in the group and competition between the old (Quarles) and new (Verlingieri) singer. But for the sake of the common cause, Jim was ready even to endure Mike, and for some time the group has existed in this format. For example, they even sfotkalis Promotional Poster six of us. Much more Jim Quarles upset by the fact that Seeley seems disappointed in him as in the author (and what to do, hit-all not!) And for the third-party website attracted singles - Dennis Edmonton, better known as Mars Bonfire. That's what Jim did not have to endure, and, dissatisfied with this policy, left the band. Another unexpected (and unintended) loss of the group was Martin Eshleman. Him "lucky" to get into a car accident, where he seriously injured his hand and temporarily "out of the game." So that future EP, "The Human Expression" will record without Quarles and Eshleman. In the absence of Martin, Jim Foster had to take over as the primary guitarist, and the responsibilities of Mike Verlindzheri, which has now become the only singer in the group, added more and rhythm guitar. As for Mars Bonfayra, he once was a member of the Canadian blues-rock band "The Sparrows", which at one time had moved from Canada to California, but now decayed, and Mars decided to earn writing. He brought into the studio two new songs "Sweet Child Of Nothingness" and "Born To Be Wild" (a familiar name?). Musicians "The Human Expression" is selected first. Perhaps it was a fateful decision. With a "minus". By 1968, the ninth year "The Human Expression" will cease to exist. After his retirement from "The Human Expression", Jim Quarles scored Doers, but not the music and got a job as a sound engineer in one of the studios. Guitarist Martin Eshleman, recovering from injuries, muddied with drummer Armand Poulin new group, which received a strange name - "Rap". Jim Foster patched young manager Westminster group received Successive title "The Human Zoo". In 1970, they released their only album (in the genre of psychedelic rock) via "Accent Records", which had previously worked "The Human Expression".
