From an interview Alan Parsons:
Question: Is it possible to describe the sound of the band in those years?
Parsons: Our's sound, we tried to mix all kinds of music genres 70s - art-rock and psychedelia, Spacey rock hard hardovogo guitar riffs, pop music with dance rhythms, as well as to impose on all of this intellectual and philosophical stories told accessible language. Of course, in some places, our music was similar to the music of other composers, and it is natural because I spent countless hours in the studio working on the recording of foreign works.
Question: Working on the design next album «I Robot» (1977), «Pyramid» (1978) and «Eve» (1979), you were counting on their commercial success?
Parsons: Yes, we would very much like this. If I'm not mistaken, the composition «(The System Of) Doctor Tarr And Professor Fether» of «Tales» even managed to break into the charts Billboard. I tried to make the most comfortable sound for the listener, and Eric caught the inspiration for writing this hit. On our plates spoke, wrote in the press, we were persistent admirers, but this success was not long. We started to slip. There was even one album after plate «Pyramid», that our record company refused to publish. He still lies somewhere in the archives. To record «Eve», it was decided to change the situation and go to Monaco. We worked productively there, the album came out, and, oh my God! - Soared to the top of the charts in Germany. We've got the first real hit single «Lucifer», also climbed to the top!
