The Champs _Early Singles

The Champs were a one hit wonder, most famous for their instrumental "Tequila". Formed by studio executives to record a B-side for a single, the intended throwaway track became more famous than its A-side. There are many cover versions of the songs, for example by rappers A.L.T. and XL Singleton. They also had success with instrumentals such as a cover of Chubby Checker's Limbo Rock and the famous La Cucaracha. The instrumental combo was also one of the first acts to record a Gary Usher tune, "Cactus Juice", in early 1963.
