Natives of the American capital Jack Kesedi (b. April 13, 1944) and Jorma Kaukonen (b. December 23, 1940) began to strum together on acoustic guitars back in school. Then the friends parted for some time, but each of them continued to make music - Jorma mastered the plucked style of play, and Jack switched to electric bass. In 1965, Kaukonen became one of the co-founders of the Jefferson Airplane, and Kesadi soon joined this team. While the work of “Aeroplan” was the soundtrack to the psychedelic 60s, the guys remained faithful to the blues, jazz, bluegrass and folk roots and realized their addictions, performing as a duet in any free time in “JA” minute. In the end, their side project got the name "Hot Tuna", and in 1970 the ensemble signed a contract with "RCA Records".
